DB3 Project

October spelled some great DB3 Project Handovers

Buxton, Calne Leisure Centre, Avon Valley College, Roar and quite a few more! October has been such an incredibly busy month completing some of the great projects we’ve been working on, so to mark these achievements we’ve done a whirlwind tour of some of them.

adidas Originals Carnaby is ready to wow shoppers

Having completed the award winning 2,700sqft flagship adidas retail store on Oxford Street last year, our DB3 Retail Architects continued working with our client adidas on their next big London venture. Our team from the DB3 London studio provided architectural design services on the adidas Originals flagship store in Soho, which opened its doors this October. Vision of sustainable future is reflected in the use of BREEAM-certified materials, reclaimed wooden floors and up-cycled furniture across the entire space.  The ‘Home of Originals’ is a gender-neutral store, home of adidas SPZL and boasts one-off art installations,  neon lights by artist God’s Own Junkyard and a DJ set up to reflect adidas’ new hub of creativity.

Llys Cadwyn transforms Pontypridd

Llys Cadwyn transforms Pontypridd

The day has come to hand over not only the new bridge but the 3rd and final building of this significant £44m regeneration scheme which has completely transformed the centre of Pontypridd in Wales. Acting as Architect and Lead, our welsh team have been busy leading a multidisciplinary design team for this important scheme. This mixed use project replaces the old Taff Vale shopping centre with three new standout buildings that house a library, one-stop centre, gym, Transport of Wales Headquarters and office spaces.  We have dedicated our very first Live Project page to this significant project, where its progress has been detailed.

Relax at Buxton Crescent Health Spa Hotel

Relax at Buxton Crescent Health Spa Hotel

Our MEP team have been involved in the renovation of this luxurious Grade 1 listed Georgian hotel since day 1 back in 2003, so the completion of this project was a truly historic moment not only for this building but also for DB3. Our Building Services team provided full design under traditional duties for the MEP Building Services. We prepared a fully designed tender package to RIBA Stage 4 and then continued co-ordination through Stage 5 leading onto monitoring role on behalf of the client. With great pride we can say that the outcome is absolutely stunning.

Lookout for the new Central England Co-op in Sutton

Lookout for the new Central England Co-op in Sutton

Formally a green field site, Central England Cooperative secured the land back in 2016, and needed to address numerous planning constraints first. Development started this February and we have now completed the shell and site works in readiness for the upcoming fitout and launch January 2021.

Our involvement has been from initial concept and feasibilities, throughout Planning Approval and the Construction Phase and we will be assisting with the fitout element for the Cooperative unit. The adjoining unit has a mixed class usage and will be fitout once a suitable Tenant has been signed up. The site comprises 51 parking spaces, 2 of which have Car charging facilities.
