Crosbie Towers, on South Beach in Troon, Ayrshire is not a building you would walk past without a second glance. A gorgeous late-Victorian Italianate villa, topped off by an imperious square tower has been extended and revamped by the addition of a 21st Century design. As a result the scheme has become one of the most iconic renovation projects in Scotland.
The development will have an audience of millions as Troon plays host to the 2016 Open Golf Championship this week.
Project designer Bob Ramage assisted by Ewan Ross of the DarntonB3 Glasgow office said: ‘Once or twice in your whole career, you become passionately involved in a project. Historic Scotland wants to see exciting one-off developments. Yes, be respectful, be mindful, but be adventurous as well. We set out to create a dynamic contrast and have achieved a refined Architectural design, which is the perfect backdrop to the 18th Hole.
Buyers have already delivered their verdict on the quality of the project by snapping up all but one of the apartments, without a single advertisement appearing.
