Work has been completed to the main entrance and foyer of the Hugh Owen Library on Aberystwyth University’s Penglais Campus.
The works have included a significant re-modelling and full refurbishment of the entrance foyer, which has included new electrical and mechanical services. The services design element of the works was undertaken by the DarntonB3 Building Services team in Manchester.
The new entrance foyer was opened by the university’s Vice Chancellor just prior to the Christmas break, and the feedback form the university’s staff and users has been very positive.
National Eisteddfod winning poet and Aberystwyth University member of the staff Eurig Salisbury was invited to compose a poem to coincide with the opening and a public reading of the work formed part of the opening celebrations.
