DarntonB3 developed the masterplan for this residential development located in Fulford, York. The site was considered very sensitive being adjacent to green belt and the Fulford conservation area.
The works comprise 680 dwellings approximately of which 235 are allocated for affordable housing. The mix includes a number of bungalows sited on the western and northern boundaries where they interface with existing dwellings. Properties will all be Ecohomes, Lifetime Homes and 15% will be fully disabled accessible.
Support facilities are included throughout the development including community, health and retail, public open space and play areas.
All works were subject to extreme scrutiny not only by the local authority but also by the Parish Council, members of the local design forum and substantial representations by the public.
The site is one of a variety of projects that the firm has handled, with schemes ranging in volume up to 1300 units.
We hold experience in social housing led regeneration, apartments and single bespoke residences, from local to high volume multiples, nationwide.
Darnton EGS adopt an environmentally friendly design ethos, with projects being developed in line with Code for Sustainable Homes principles.
